2020 Wrapped

Holidays and the end of the year are a perfect time for reflection. I adore Love Actually, and just like that twisted, intertwined plot of a movie, this year has had its share of ups and downs. Some got lucky and had some wins while it felt like others were only destined for heartbreak. But, I think that’s what makes that movie so impactful. And while I struggled a lot this year, it pales in comparison to so many. I did a lot of cool things too. And in giving thanks and acknowledging my great amount of luck (and hard work), I won’t get complacent. I’m so proud of what I've been able to accomplish, and I'd love to share a recap with you all. So without further ado: these are some highlights from this past year that I feel so grateful to have been a part of!

Returning clients bring me such joy and so much confidence. I'm so glad they trust me to photograph them again and again. Watching their family grow up and gain little ones isn't half bad either ;)

New clients are opportunities to gain returning clients. It's exciting to try to find new styles to shoot and try to give them that look they want.

Thinking about photographing Shaun’s family still chokes me up. After hearing word he would have to start chemo again, he wanted to share a moment with his family. He has such a powerful story.

Weddings looked so different this year, but that doesn’t mean they lacked in ANYTHING. Just look at Ally and Michelle’s gorgeous ceremony and reception.

I get excited thinking about finding a way for Grandma to get her first look before the Pope's wedding, too! Read about her experience here.

Photographing a music video was a new experience for me this year! The Cordial Sins are rad friends, but even better people and thus musicians. Shooting 'You Are A Weight' was such an awesome time. and Turning it into a commercial for Midwest Photo was the cherry on top! Read about it and view the videos here.

Anndddddd finally! I put out my first edition of a Newspaper! It showcases relationships I've fostered with commercial clients in the LGBTQ+ field. Sharing these powerful stories is some of the most important work I've ever done.

I've also had the pleasure of adding this fella to the team, meet Thomas Lotozo! There will definitely be a more in-depth blog post to come!

With that, 2020 is WRAPPED! On to bigger and better in 2021, baby! May you have a wonderful holiday and a happy new year. To Sluggers for a New Year's beer! Just Kidding, but support that business, please. I miss dancing at it something fierce.
