My Favorite Moments of 2018: Wedding Edition

My heartbeat quickens when a couple closes in on their last few steps toward their first look. I've had to wipe away a few tears from my camera screen when heartfelt letters were exchanged. Full disclosure, I'm a sucker for love.

And 2018 was another year that reminded me how lucky I am to do what I do. Here's a look back at a few of my favorite moments that left me drying tears, bent over laughing, and cheesing from ear-to-ear.

I'll never forget this couple's first look. After photographing Danny "icing" his groomsmen and Caitlin lacing up her sneakers, it was time for them to see their soulmate. After Caitlin walked up behind her husband and tapped him on the shoulder, Danny turned around and broke down. (See a play-by-play here.) It instantly filled my arm with goosebumps and became one of my favorite moments of the year.

Sometimes the sun sets just so and it feels like the universe is in your favor as a photographer. Larissa and Daniel's love had that kind of effect on the night of their wedding. The sky was set on FIRE the night of their wedding at Brookshire.

Evann & Matt entered their wedding reception at the Audubon Center like rockstars and everyone was s.h.o.o.k. It set the tone for the rest of the night and I won't soon forget it.

Vows can be an incredibly personal declaration to your forever person. So when Claire and Kristin read their wedding vows to each other in private before the ceremony, it made perfect sense. It also made for the most stunning photographs full of pure emotion.

What brings people together just as much as weddings? Beer.

During Shonda and Julie's ceremony, they raised their glass for a celebratory beer toast after saying their, "I Do's." Nothing pairs with a warm heart quite like a cold, frosty beer, amirite?! Wedding Planner: Dominique Bedrosian Location: Highland Brewing Company

And speaking of Shonda and Julie, they earned another best wedding moment when Shonda went flying off her chair during the horah. No one was injured (bless) but our stomachs ached from laughing the next day.

Matthew and Robert took the (wedding) cake for another best wedding moment when Matthew nailed Robert with some delicious cake at Juniper. Feeding cake oh-so delicately to your beloved is cute but smearing it on their face was kind of the best, too. As noted in the photo below, their wedding wasn't short of sweet moments without the buttercream mustaches, too.

As Karla and Linda exited their beautiful ceremony a magnificent rainbow filled the sky. I kid you not. It was the perfect way to kick off their celebration of marriage. These two good looking ladies have been together for over twenty years and this was a sign that there are more adventures and goodness to come! Below is their flower girl, Avery, making it rain at the Don CeSar.

If you know me, then you know I am a sucker for a good suit... at Kris & Windy's wedding the people rocked them with no problem. A bunch of dapper dapper humans. Also, the dance floor, pictured below rarely kept things PG which was fine by me. We all danced so hard it had to be on the top Favorites Moments of 2018 list. The people in Atlanta can get DOWN.

I'm going to wrap this up with Sisi & Rosa's wedding that took place in Iceland. This wedding moment is near and dear to my heart because these two are a couple of my favorite humans. We had twenty-four hours of sunlight, closed down the bars, and ended the (morning) with some pizza. Yes, please. Wedding Planner: Eva María Þórarinsdóttir Lange Location: Safnahúsið
